Ready to be a part of something spectacular? If you’re looking to start taking memorable yearly vacations, or simply add to your existing ownership, then you need Wyndham. Wyndham Destinations is the world’s largest vacation club, offering 240+ resorts within their exciting family of industry-leading brands. With resorts in sought-after destinations like Mexico, Colorado, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and more, Wyndham points are a hot commodity for dedicated travelers. But where can you buy Wyndham points? And is it better to purchase points straight from Wyndham or save some money on the resale market? Timeshares Only is here to answer these questions and more to help you get the best deal on your points purchase.
What Are Wyndham Points, and How Do They Work?

Before we tell you how to buy points from Wyndham, we should explain what Wyndham points are and how they work. Like most modern vacation clubs, Wyndham Destinations features a points-based system of ownership. By forgoing the traditional fixed-week model of timeshare in favor of points, owners can enjoy greater vacation flexibility and variety. New owners buy Wyndham points to secure their ownership. Owners use their points as vacation currency to book stays within their brand’s resort portfolio.
The amount of points you own determines which resorts you can vacation at and how long. More luxurious resorts in highly sought-after destinations often cost more points than a less popular resort in an average location. Likewise, larger units cost more points than smaller ones. Make sense? Owners can explore Wyndham hotels/resorts all over the world with this system. They’re not tired to one resort location for the same week each year like with the traditional timeshare model. So, see more and experience more when you buy Wyndham points.
Buy Wyndham Points and Deposit Into RCI

There’s another benefit to buying Wyndham points, and that’s membership with RCI. Wyndham is the owner of RCI, which is the world’s leading (and largest) vacation exchange network. RCI features over 4,300 affiliated resorts, hotels, and properties in nearly 110 countries, all of which are eligible for vacation exchange. RCI does not own any of these resorts, they are simply RCI-affiliated resorts. These resorts include top brands, such as Hilton Grand Vacations, Holiday Inn Club Vacations, and Westgate Resorts, and and are in exclusive destinations like Japan, Australia, Costa Rica, the Canary Islands, and more.
So, should you ever tire of your brand’s portfolio with Wyndham, become an RCI member and broaden your travel horizons with vacation exchange! Once you buy Wyndham points, simply upload your chosen amount of points to RCI, and see where you can vacation. Like booking a resort, where you can stay is determined by how many points you’ve uploaded and their trading power.
Buy Wyndham Points: Retail Versus Resale

Now, where should you go to buy Wyndham points? You have two options: You can buy points directly from Wyndham, or you can buy points off of the resale market. But what’s the difference? The real answer is simple—the price. It’s known that timeshares aren’t generally considered “inexpensive,” and the transition from fixed-week to points-based programs hasn’t changed that fact. However, the rise of the timeshare resale market has provided much needed relief to new owners looking for a cheaper way to reach their vacation dreams and for existing owners to add to their current ownership for less.
As previously mentioned, the total price of your Club Wyndham timeshare depends on the number of points your purchase, the location of your home resort (where you receive priority booking), and your unit type. Typically, the price of ownership averages around $22,000 for a week’s worth of ownership. Yikes. Yet, when you buy Wyndham points off the resale market, you can potentially save 50 to 60 percent on your purchase.
These resale points operate like points straight from Wyndham; there is no difference in these points except for the price! Moreover, buying resale does not mean you’re receiving a secondhand experience. Wyndham maintains their resorts beautifully using owner maintenance fees and resort fees. Meaning, both direct owners and resale owners receive the same resort experience. So, why not save thousands on your Wyndham ownership and purchase off the resale market for a fraction of the price?
Wyndham Resale Restrictions
Of course, the resale market takes some business away from industry veterans, such as Wyndham. Because of this, they often place restrictions on club benefits for those who purchase points on the resale market instead of direct. Luckily, Wyndham doesn’t enforce many resale restrictions against its resale owners. In fact, the main restriction is that resale owners will not be eligible for VIP status. This is awarded to owners who purchase 300,000+ points. Moreover, Club Pass reservations, which allows owners to book reservations for friends and family, is reserved for direct owners, as are some other Club Pass benefits. However, many find that the savings are worth the minor Wyndham resale restrictions.
Earn Wyndham Rewards Points

On the other hand, if you’re interested in buying Wyndham Rewards points, this is a different story. Wyndham Rewards is the loyalty program for Wyndham, and these points cannot be purchased off of the resale market. However, we can still tell you about the program. Anyone can sign up for a Wyndham Rewards account, owner or general vacationer. The purpose of this rewards program is to help guests earn points for their stays and purchases, and then redeem points on free stays, tours, activities, shopping, and more.
There are four member levels to Wyndham Rewards, each with different, exciting perks. Rise the ranks from Blue Members to Gold Members, to Platinum Members, and finally to Diamond Members, with the number (and luxury) of perks growing all the while. Move from level to level as you spend more nights with Wyndham, thus earning yourself more points and rewards. You may also earn points and save with Wyndham travel bundles. Bundle your hotel, flights, car rentals, cruise, etc. at a good value, all while earning up to 10 points per dollar on qualifying hotel stays and activities.
Moreover, with the Wyndham Rewards Earner Credit Card, you can earn unlimited points on eligible purchases and on qualified stays, being awarded up to 10 points per dollar spent or 1,000 points (whichever is more). Redeem Wyndham rewards points with discounted nights starting at 750 points and free nights starting at 7,500 points at Wyndham hotels. Please note that rewards points expire without account activity for eighteen months.
Buy Wyndham Rewards Points
If you’re looking to buy Wyndham points for the rewards program, you’re in luck. Typically, rewards members are allowed to purchase up to 100,000 points per account per calendar year and before any bonuses. However, these points purchases do not count towards your Wyndham member level.
Moreover, owners also have the option to convert their future Use Year Club Wyndham points into Wyndham Rewards points and redeem travel opportunities and experiences. The conversion rate is 1,000 Club Wyndham points to 400 Wyndham Rewards points. Though, there is a maximum number of Club Wyndham points that can be converted per each reward membership level. Members may convert or buy points to have enough points to unlock new travel and leisure opportunities they might not have otherwise. For example, some all-inclusive hotels and resort properties not within the Wyndham portfolio can be booked for 15,000 to 30,000 points per night for two adults.
