Maybe you’re traveling less, your maintenance fees keep climbing, or your plans have changed. Whatever the reason, you can sell your Bluegreen timeshare on the resale market, whether you own Vacation Club points or a fixed or flex week. We’ll help you advertise it to buyers and walk you through each step, from creating an ad to closing.
Resale prices are usually much lower than what owners paid Bluegreen. Like with any secondhand market, a timeshare usually loses value once it’s bought, so expect offers well below your original price. That’s true whether you own Vacation Club points or a week.
To get a feel for the market, look at what similar Bluegreen ownerships are advertised for. Or find out what your timeshare is worth, and a representative will help you pick an asking price that gets attention.
What your points or week will bring depends on:
Ownerships at high-demand resorts, like those in Orlando or the Smoky Mountains, tend to draw more interest.
Weeks and points tied to peak travel times attract more buyers.
Larger point packages can bring stronger offers.
When many owners are selling the same kind of ownership, prices may go down.
Buyers look at it a little differently than points. A fixed week is the same week at the same resort every year, so its value depends mostly on when that week falls. A summer or holiday week usually draws more interest than an off-season one. A flex week lets the owner pick their week within a season, which appeals to buyers who want some flexibility in their travel dates. Either way, have your resort, unit size, and week number or season ready, so we can show buyers exactly what they’re getting.
Here's how a Bluegreen resale works, from your first call to the day your name comes off the deed.
Bluegreen owners have either Vacation Club points, which refresh each year based on how many you own, or a fixed or flex week at one resort. Your home resort and point allotment or week all go in your ad, so find them first. Not sure? A representative can help you track them down.
Have your deed or membership contract, your latest maintenance fee statement, and your account or member number on hand. Missing something? We can help you find it.
You have full control and can accept or decline any offer. When you accept one, your representative can connect you with our Recommended Resale Brokerage, Fidelity Real Estate, to handle negotiations, including who pays commissions, transfer fees, and closing costs, and to prepare contracts for both parties to sign.
You decide which offers to accept, counter, or decline. Once you accept one, our Recommended Resale Brokerage, Fidelity Real Estate, can prepare the contracts and handle closing. Using them is up to you.
After you and your buyer sign, the contract goes to Bluegreen. Bluegreen reviews the terms, including price, resort, and ownership type, and has the right of first refusal: it can buy the timeshare itself on those same terms, or waive that right so the sale goes ahead with your buyer. Either way, you receive the price you agreed to.
A title company transfers ownership from your name to the buyer’s and works with the resort and county as needed. Keep paying maintenance fees until Bluegreen confirms in writing that the new owner is on record. From then on, the ownership and its fees belong to the buyer.
Bluegreen owners may be targets for resale and exit scams. Watch for these red flags:
Legitimate companies don't cold-call owners with a buyer already lined up. If you didn't reach out first, treat it as a scam.
Claims of a quick sale at a premium price should be treated with caution. Scammers often create a false sense of urgency and excitement to pressure victims into sending money prematurely.
Exit companies and "cancellation" lawyers promise to make your contract disappear for a large fee. However, many owners pay those fees, only to still own their timeshare in the end. A timeshare contract is binding like any real estate contract, and many owners pay these fees and still own their timeshare.
Skipping payments won't end your contract. It can cost you your ownership and hurt your credit.

If you still like owning, but your vacations have changed, you have options:
Bluegreen is affiliated with RCI, so you can exchange your points for stays at thousands of resorts outside Bluegreen, or put them toward cruises.
Need a year or two off? Renting out your points or week can help cover your maintenance fees. We can advertise your Bluegreen rental to travelers, even while it's for sale.
You can transfer your ownership to someone who'll use it. They take on the vacations and the maintenance fees.
Want to own a piece of a timeshare resort and make low monthly payments? We recommend Vacation Club Loans for your next timeshare purchase. Simply fill out an application, select your resort, and they will send funds to your escrow agent or title company at closing.
Our reviews say it all. We are trusted and recommended to help all owners sell their timeshares on the resale market safely.
You can sell either. Vacation Club points, fixed weeks, and flex weeks can all be sold on the resale market. Your ad just shows different details: point allotment for points, or resort, unit, and week for a weeks ownership.
Sell it on the resale market. Selling transfers your ownership and all future maintenance fees to a new owner. If you’re not ready to let go, renting it out can help cover your costs in the meantime. Be wary of anyone who promises to cancel your contract for a fee.
No. As long as your name is on the deed, you’re responsible for maintenance fees and any assessments, and ignoring them can lead to collections and damage your credit. Selling moves those responsibilities to the new owner.
Hilton Grand Vacations completed its acquisition of Bluegreen Vacations in January 2024. You can still sell your Bluegreen points or week on the resale market using the steps on this page. For questions about your account or your resort’s branding, check with Bluegreen owner services.
Your deed or membership contract, recent maintenance fee statements, your point allotment or usage details, and your account or member number. Having these ready helps us build an accurate ad and answer buyer questions quickly.
Yes. Fees are your responsibility until the transfer is complete. Once Bluegreen confirms in writing that the new owner is on record, you can stop paying.
Possibly. Most states give new buyers a short rescission period, often 3 to 15 days depending on state law, to cancel in writing for a full refund. Your purchase contract explains how to send your notice. Once that window closes, selling is the way out.
