The Coast RTA is the bus system which serves the Myrtle Beach area all along the coast. From north of the Cabana District south to the Ocean Reef Resort, the RTA stops almost everywhere you want to go. Renting a car is a good idea if you plan on heading out of town to the many great destinations found nearby. Ridesharing is also an option here, but don't count on full availability. To date, only Uber is available.
Myrtle enjoys a temperate climate with pleasant temperatures throughout the year. Ideal times to book a beach vacation are March through May and late September through early November. Keep in mind that crowds peak in mid-July and are lowest in August after school is back in session.
