Owner Notes
We are multi-week owners (1 BR and studio) and will do our best to make
the rental process as efficient and seamless as possible.
When you rent from an owner, self-parking & WiFi are free and there are
no resort fees. But...Hawaii state occupancy fees apply. These fees vary
by unit type and are due at time of checkout. When we were there in April
2024 and taxes were APPROXIMATELY $190 for the 1BR and $33 for the
studio. Optional valet parking is available for $33 per night. Please
note that these fees are estimated.
A housekeeping fee of up to $88 (subject to change) may apply depending
on how the reservation was booked. If you dont want housekeeping, let
the person know when youre checking in.
This 1 bedroom unit sleeps four adults comfortably has a full kitchen
with a dining area and living room. The master bedroom includes a king
size bed with access to the lanai and a luxurious bathroom with 2 sinks,
a jacuzzi tub, toilet room and a large stand up shower. Living area
includes a pull-out queen size bed, and breakfast bar adjacent to the
dining room table, with an additional slider to the lanai. The unit also
includes a washer/dryer.
Come explore the island where you can climb mountains and explore
volcanoes, swim under waterfalls, and snorkel with the sea turtles right
off the world famous beach of the Westin.
With views of both islands (Lanai and Molokai) from the rooms, pool and
beach, this resort has the perfect location along the beach and boardwalk
that runs the length of Kaanapali beach.
The pool is an oceanfront pool with rock waterfalls where water flows
through the connected lagoons.
The resort features Auntie's Kitchen Restaurant which is poolside.
Pailolo is a sports bar with several TV screens and features burgers,
sandwiches, and salads and of course, your favorite cocktails with Happy
Hour and a daily drink special. This bar also serves the poolside guests.
One of our favorite conveniences is the washer and dryer because we don't
have to pack as many clothes. We just throw our clothes/bathing suits in
the washer and we have clean clothes ready for the next outing. We also
love grilling fresh seafood and steaks on one of the many gas grills on
the property. We go to the grocery store a few times while we are there
so we have breakfast foods, lunch snacks, food to make dinner if we dont
feel like going out to eat, and we usually keep wine, drinks, cheese and
assorted local fruits in the fridge and have a late night snack with a
glass of wine out on the Lanai each evening and a cup of coffee sitting
out on the Lanai greeting each new day.
When renting your vehicle, keep in mind that 95% of the parking spaces in
Maui are at best compact width so if you have a large vehicle you may
have difficulty finding a parking space. Make sure to take photos and a
video of every door ding and scratch (check the windshield for cracks and
check the tire treads) and interior of your vehicle and carefully
document it on the car rental form before driving off, and make sure to
keep your copy.
There is a Wal Mart and Costco, which are only a few miles from the
airport if you need to stop and get groceries. FYIit takes approx. 45-50
minutes to get to the resort from the airport, as long as there are no
accidents or traffic jams. Gas and alcohol are cheaper at Costco than
locations near the resort. Another option closer to the resort is the
Safeway grocery located in the Cannery Mall. If you go to the Safeway, I
highly recommend signing up for one of their membership cards BEFORE you
start shopping so you can get the discounts on groceries. Download the
Safeway app and click the digital coupons and save even more money with
in-store promotions. We usually save a LOT of money by using our
membership card.
We also love the book Maui Revealed: The Ultimate Guidebook (available
on Amazon) and the app that goes along with it. Its called Revealed
Travel Guides Maui GPS Driving Tour. The app is ~$15 and is well-worth
the money. Its an audio driving tour. We loved it. Make sure to visit
Haleakala National Park, Dragons Teeth, the Blow Hole, and Hookipa
Beach (where the sea turtles rest on the beach). There are so many other
places to visit but these are some of our favorites.
