Owner Notes
Spend Christmas at the Mexican Riviera!
In case you're not familiar with the Riviera Maya, it is rated as one of
the world's most popular travel destinations, famous for its beaches,
reefs, underground rivers, nature theme parks, and Mayan archaeological
sites. The Royal Haciendas is located in Grand Coral beach and golf
community, five minutes to the north of Playa del Carmen and 30 minutes
from Cancun International Airport.
This ocean-view villa is available for week 51 only, which means earliest
check in is on Saturday, December 20, 2025 and latest check out is
Saturday, December 27, 2025.
This is a 1722 sq ft (160 sq meter) ocean-view, 2-bedroom, 2-bath suite
on the second floor with a balcony overlooking the resort courtyard. The
unit has a master bedroom, a spacious living room with 2 additional
Murphy beds, a dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen (full size
stove, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, toaster, blender, microwave,
plates, glassware, utensils, pots and pans, etc). The terrace is perfect
for relaxing, enjoying an al fresco dinner, stargazing, or toasting to
your sweetheart in the outdoor whirlpool tub. There are 3 flatscreen TVs,
DVD players, sound systems, free high speed internet, granite
countertops. The large master bedroom also includes a king size bed, a
lounge area, a master bath with shower and double sink, and a huge
closet. There's even a separate storage closet where you can hide your
suitcases and pretend you don't ever have to leave.
The second bedroom is actually a lock-off unit, but you can keep the door
open for friends or family. It has two double beds, a kitchenette with a
microwave, coffee maker, mini fridge, bathroom with tub/shower, a
separate entrance and a separate balcony with chairs. The color scheme
will remind you you're in Mexico: Spanish tile, wood, stone, hand-painted
wall motifs and frescos. There is daily maid service, except on Sundays
and Christmas Day.
The amenities include: 2 huge pools with swim up bars, 2 lap pools, 2
kiddie pools, 4 large whirlpool tubs, and separate shaded areas with
hammocks. There are floodlit tennis courts, a separate multi-use court
for basketball or soccer, a gym, a dive center and sports desk, where
guests can sign out tennis and snorkel gear, bicycles and even kayaks.
There are resort activities going on during the weekdays to keep kids of
all ages entertained. During the week, there's morning yoga, pool fitness
classes, crafts, volleyball, a weekly taco party, etc. There's also a
supervised kids club for kids aged 4-12 years.
There's a full service spa with a collection of facial and body
treatments, as well as massages. There's a beauty salon, too, in case you
didn't have time for a pedicure before you left home. There is a gym with
treadmills and workout machines. On site, there's a laundry area with
washers and dryers. You can walk up and down the beach for miles. There's
free beach towels at the sports desk for pool or beach use, and little
grass top umbrellas with lounge chairs, and really nice waiters who will
bring food or drinks to your chair if you put the little flag in the
sand.
There's a well stocked convenience store on site, where you can pick up
your groceries during your stay. There's also a car rental desk and a
travel agency desk with an attendant who knows all the best day trips and
who will book them for you.
Don't feel like cooking in your villa? There are several restaurant
options on site.** The high-end option is Los Murales, which serves fresh
seafood in a relaxing atmosphere. There is live, low key entertainment
certain evenings, which makes it a nice, romantic choice. The newest
restaurant is Kinoko, an Asian fusion restaurant, which also has
vegetarian and vegan options. The more casual La Palapa del Sol offers
dining with a direct view of the beach, or an outdoor patio seating
overlooking the ocean. There is a daily breakfast buffet, and a changing
nightly dinner buffet, or you can order off the menu any time. There are
two more restaurants for a casual lunch near the pool: Sol Grill and Luna
Grill. They offer tacos, wraps, burgers, grilled fish, ceviche, etc. We
love their shrimp tacos! If you're looking for something even more low
key, the La Palapa has pizza, wings, and other basics you can have
delivered to your room.
** Important: Our price does NOT include the all-inclusive meal plan,
called the "Refine" plan, which is OPTIONAL for guests staying in a
member's unit. If you wish to purchase the Refine plan, it's an extra
$135 per person (age 18 and up), $110 per teen (age 13-17), and $65 per
child (age 4-12). Those prices are per person, per day, and covers all
food and drink. The child's all-inclusive price also includes membership
in the "kid's club" which includes crafts, activities and games.
Pre-purchase of the Refine plan is available by calling Royal Resorts at
888-721-4454. By pre-purchasing, you pay 50% of the package up front and
the balance in equal monthly installments to be paid no later than 30
days prior to your stay.
TIP: For a one-week stay, considering there's a free shuttle service
downtown (or a reasonable taxi ride) with fabulous restaurant options the
resort concierge can recommend, I would not purchase the all-inclusive
option - unless you plan to eat and drink a lot, or if you don't want to
cook on vacation. Yes, it includes use of the gym, but you can also buy a
gym pass at the spa desk.
Smoking is permitted on the balconies.
The resort does offer wedding planning services for a fee.
Must be at least age 25 to rent.
