With over 80 historic buildings on 2,700 gated acres, many still in use for their originally intended purposes, Fort Clark Springs is one of America's most complete privately maintained frontier forts. On-site, the large, spring-fed swimming pools stays at 68 degrees year-round. Each tent camping site has barbeque facilities, a picnic table, and cold showers nearby. The RV park has full hook-ups, four bathrooms with showers, a kitchen, telephone, and laundry facilities. A community meeting room houses games and activities such as arts & crafts, game nights, potluck dinners, and all-you-can-eat breakfasts. Additional on-site amenities include a military museum, 9- & 18-hole golf courses, tennis courts, fitness center, sauna, hot tub, aerobics classes, hiking & biking trails, bird sanctuary, art studio, billiards, and youth center. Nearby, Alamo Village, Kickapoo Cavern State Park, and San Antonio offer excellent day-trips.
