Visitors Will Find Kissimmee Is In The Thick Of It All

Florida vacationers looking for a different view of some of the major attractions often make Kissimmee their home base. This little town just outside of Orlando is the perfect location for a trip that takes in all the best the central part of the state has to offer.

Kissimmee does not have a ton of attractions itself. What it does have, however, is proximity. Those who stay in this town will find it generally is much more affordable than the major resort areas and it also offers a few distinctions of its own. Within Kissimmee visitors can:

  • Tour historic sites: Kissimmee is home to a historic downtown with quaint buildings from the past on display and still quite functional. It has a number of sites visitors enjoy checking out.
  • Dining: One of the most noted draws for Kissimmee beyond its more affordable hotels is the fact this city is loaded with eating establishments. Visitors here will find just about every type of cuisine under the sun. Buffets are favorites for many visitors, but there are upscale eateries and even some major dinner theaters here, too. Medieval Times and Arabian Nights are both located here.
  • Other activities: The city itself also serves as home to a number of golf courses, arcades and dozens and dozens of shops, boutiques and more. The main roads in town are literally jam packed with places to stop, shop and explore.

While many vacationers choose to stay in Kissimmee, they do not necessarily do so for the city's attractions. It's the nearby adventures that await that draw them in. Some of these include:

  • Disney: Kissimmee is very close to Lake Buena Vista, the home of the Disney complex. Here visitors will find the Magic Kingdom, Celebration, Epcot and more. Many Kissimmee hotels run daily shuttles to the complex to ensure visitors get to where they want to be.
  • SeaWorld: This aquatic attraction is the home of dolphins, whales and plenty of shows and other attractions. SeaWorld is a favorite among visitors from all over the world.
  • Universal: Vacationers who want to ride with the stars often find this park is well worth the price of admission. With attractions built around some of the movie companies most famous pictures, Universal is packed with action, adventure and even some very spooky fun during the Halloween season.
  • Orlando: With its historic Church Street Station and a night life that seems to know no bounds, Orlando is a big stop for many visitors. Dining, touring, music and more are always on tap in this Central Florida city.
  • Other nearby attractions: It is nearly impossible for a visitor to become bored with the many attractions close by to Kissimmee. Within a reasonable driving distance, visitors will find Plant City, home of the Strawberry Festival; Daytona Beach; the Kennedy Space Center; Tampa with its Busch Gardens and Ybor City; and much more.

When a different theme park city destination is desired, Kissimmee is one Central Florida community that many visitors take notice of. Close to some of the state's most noted attractions, Kissimmee always leaves a light on for guests.
